Food grown the way nature intended

Natural farming works with the soil instead of against it. We use no chemical fertilisers, pesticides or weedkillers. Instead we feed the life in the soil (earthworms, fungi and billions of microbes) with preparations we make on the farm from cow dung, cow urine, jaggery, pulse flour and a handful of forest soil. These are called jeevamrit and beejamrit.

We keep the ground covered with mulch, grow many crops side by side, and let our ducks, hens, cows and fish share the work. Healthy soil grows strong plants, and strong plants need very little help. It is how our grandparents farmed in the Terai, sharpened by what soil science teaches us today.
